Vechoochira is a small village situated on the north of ranny taluk,a hilly region,on the banks of river pampa.it is
near the famous tourist spot perunthenaruvi
This area was a formerly a forest region, allotted to the ex service men and hence called ex-servicemen colony. migration
to this area started in the 1950s.but an orthodox church was constructed only in 1980 under the Thumpamon diocese
Of Malankara Orthodox church.
This area is inhabited by poor farmers who migrated from the developed area and settled for their livelihood in
this forest region. Although they are poor
they are devout Christians.
